As I read post after post from all of the wonderful blogs that I like to read, I can't help feel a little overwhelmed. Many of them are simply a recap of top posts for 2011, but some of them talk about goals and resolutions for 2012.
I have never been one to make resolutions, but I think one of the things I need to work on is to quit comparing myself to others! When I spend too much time reading other blogs, or magazines I find that what is intended to be an encouragement, or a great idea can sometimes make me feel like I am not doing enough, or that I don't have my life together as much as "everybody else"!
So a little advice to myself, and maybe a little advice to pass on to you as well, if you struggle with feelings of inadequacy...
Read all of these organizing posts, and decorating posts, and eating right, exercising diligently, and managing your finances, etc. with a "grain of sand"...
we are doing the best that we can do! :)
(Homeschool moms are known for comparing ourselves to others!)
So here is a little Tim Hawkins, just for a good laugh!
(if you can't see the video, go here)
Hope that helps....
Blessings to you in 2012!

Agreed! Encouragement is wonderful. I have found so many amazing women in my past few months of blogging. But you know what my favorite posts are? The brutally honest ones. The ones that admit defeat and failure and then end on a note of positivity - moving forward and continuing to walk towards their goal.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many wonderful ideas out there and there is no way we could do them all, or perfectly! Here's to a journey of progress no matter how small!
