Ham in the Freezer....and what else to do with leftovers

Do you have ham coming out of your ears after hosting Easter dinner on Sunday??

I WISH I did....the down side of not hosting Easter, is not having leftovers to stock my freezer!  Heehee!

For those of you that want to make sure not to let your leftovers go to waste, here are a few ideas:

1.  Eat as much up as you want today, and even Wednesday.  Make a ham sandwich, Ham & Cheddar in a Loaf, or Ham & Cheese w/ Poppyseed Mustard Melts.  Make an omelet or egg bake for dinner, and change the appearance of the ham!  ;)

2.  Dice your ham and put in freezer containers or bags in small portions.  Diced ham can easily be added to an omelet, Easy Brunch Oven Omelet, an egg bake, scalloped potatoes, or even split pea soup.  Diced ham will last 1 - 2 months in the freezer, according to The Freezer Cooking Manual from 30 Day Gourmet.

3.  Make ham balls, flash freeze them and place in freezer containers or bags.

4.  or.... if you can't stand the thought of eating anymore ham, bring some to me, who would enjoy the leftovers!

  1. I didn't host Easter dinner, so I don't have leftovers, but I did buy a ham last week when it was on sale. I will bake it soon and freeze the leftovers for future meals. I love adding it to omelets.
