After a one week hiatus on my menu planning, I am trying to "get my act together"! All of this planning, shopping, cooking tends to be a bit tedious, doesn't it?
Last evening as my husband had offered to make omelets for supper (thank you Sweetie!), we were having a little discussion with our soon-to-be 15 year old son. He reminded me that he wanted me to make two of the recipes that he had made in his Food and Consumer Science class last year in school. I told him that I thought it would be a great idea for him to make supper for us one night, using those recipes! He explained that he "wasn't really interested in cooking"!!! Haha! My husband and I laughed and could have launched into a long "life is full of doing what you don't want to do most of the time" speeches, but we refrained and just told him that cooking (and I added grocery shopping) is a necessity, not necessarily something I want to do....
Ever have these types of conversations at your house?!!
So, on to my menu plan....because it truly does make my life a little easier!
The beginning of the week I will be trying to "eat from what is on hand already":
MONDAY: Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
TUESDAY: Chicken Tenders
WEDNESDAY: Soft Tacos
THURSDAY: Easy Summer Italian Pasta Salad
FRIDAY: Dinner at the ball field....tbd
So, I will keep plugging away....trying to plan, shop and cook....and instill the help of my family more often!!!
